A LEARNING PATH THROUGH THE CHANTS

The chants are part of the tradition and knowledge transmission of the Huni Kuin people.

In Universo Mapu, you'll have the opportunity to learn these chants directly from Mapu Huni Kuin, through weekly online gatherings.

The proposal is simple:

listen, learn, sing and keep practicing.

You don't need to learn everything at once.

Every month, two new chants are taught, creating an ongoing learning path.

HOW IT WORKS

Universo Mapu is an ongoing community with a monthly subscription.

You can join at any time, and from the moment you join, you'll start following the chants being taught during that period.

Every month, you learn exactly 2 new chants.

Each chant is worked on over two weeks:

  1. WEEK 1

    New chant

    Mapu introduces the chant, teaches its words and melody, and sings along with participants.

  2. WEEK 2

    Review

    A gathering dedicated to reviewing and practicing the chant learned.

  3. Then a new cycle begins:

  4. WEEK 3

    New chant

  5. WEEK 4

    Review

This way, month after month, you expand your repertoire and deepen your relationship with the chants.

The subscription is monthly and can be canceled at any time.

Every month, new chants are taught and the path continues.

WHY IS THERE A COST FOR THIS TRANSMISSION?

The Sacred Huni Kuin Chants carry a profound dimension within Huni Kuin tradition.

That's why Universo Mapu doesn't treat this knowledge as ordinary content or as just another digital product.

The monthly contribution is also a way to recognize and honor the sacred dimension of these chants, and the knowledge and dedication involved in passing them on.

There's also a concrete purpose for the resources generated by the community.

Contributions help sustain Mapu, his family, and the projects carried out with his community.

The resources go toward needs and projects that are part of the community's life, including:

  • food security in the village;
  • building and maintaining homes;
  • building and maintaining the prayer house;
  • reforestation and recovery of the land in Mapu's village;
  • materials and resources needed for community projects;
  • expenses related to the continuity of Mapu's work and activities;
  • day-to-day needs of Mapu and his family.

This way, by taking part in Universo Mapu, you're not only gaining access to online gatherings and learning chants.

Your contribution also helps sustain Mapu's work, his family, and projects that are part of his community's life.

A CONTRIBUTION THAT GIVES BACK TO THE COMMUNITY

Universo Mapu was also born as a way to build a bridge between people from different places and the continuity of Mapu's work and his community.

Over time, the resources generated by the community can support different needs and projects in the village, strengthening the conditions for its knowledge, culture, territory, and ways of life to keep being cared for.

Learning the chants can also be a way of supporting the person who passes them on.
